Due to the events of COVID-19, it is most likely that you, your children, and many others are spending more time on your devices than ever before. However, too much time looking into the screen can cause something known as computer vision syndrome, or more commonly known as digital eye strain. Though it is not a serious condition, it is something that is quite uncomfortable as it can cause headaches, eyestrain, blurred vision, insomnia, and other health conditions to the body and eyes.

That is why we are here to inform you of the way to help prevent digital eye strain from occurring in your eyes and the other health conditions that come along with it!

Try Blinking Some More

The more you stare at a screen, the more your eyes can be strained. This is most likely due to not blinking as much as one should while looking at a digital screen and can even cause your eyes to dry out. Therefore, it should be noted to take a break every once and a while to blink, ensuring your eyes the care they need.

The 20-20-20 Rule

It is important to give your eyes a break at least for 20 minutes during the day. During this break, you should also look at an object that is approximately 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds, allowing your eyes to relax and some rest before continuing to engage on the digital screen.
